God Protects His flock

The last

Israel in the Wilderness on their journey to the land of Canaan. According to the

Parsha of the Book of Numbers details the wanderings of the Children of

Torah,

When they left Mitzrayim, (ancient Egypt), they did not leave as runaway slaves or as

cowards but they left as a proud people. When we read the Haggada commemorating the

Exodus, we sit reclined as if we are royalty. We see an allusion to this in the Torah. The

the children of Israel made 42 stops on the way to their promised land.

in Exodus 12:48 that no uncircumcised male shall eat of it. From this we learn that before

the eating of the Passover meal all males were circumcised. With the aid of the code, we

learn that even the Egyptians knew that we were circumcised. If they thought that we

were weakened, the Torah says we went out with an upraised hand. In fact, it is the

obeying of the commandments that gives us our strength.

In this Parsha (Masai) the

The Torah says the following,

the killer shall surely be put to death (

put away in jail for many years. Some states even authorize the death penalty. However,

it is a lengthy procedure and the killer remains in jail for many years before the execution

takes place. According to Torah law, an intentional killer is put to death. If the person is

judged to have killed unintentionally, then the killer is sent to a city of refuge, to be

rehabilitated by the Levites, who will teach him the laws of the Torah. The Torah places

much importance in this situation based on the findings of the encoded letters which

spells the term

Temple Mount. On the Temple Mount sat the Sanhedrin, the highest court in the land of

Israel. Why is Hamoriah encoded there? What has killing to do with Moriah? Based on

the reading of Rashi at 35:25, the Torah mentions that the killer shall dwell in the city of

refuge until the High Priest (Kohen Gadol) dies “for the Kohen Gadol comes to make the

Divine Presence rest upon Israel and to extend their days, and the murderer comes to

remove the Divine Presence from Israel and shortens the days of their lives. Alternatively,

because the Kohen Gadol should have prayed that this misfortune should not have

occurred to Israel during his lifetime. In my opinion, it means that Moriah represents God

and this killer does his act in spite of God.

We also learn that Bilaam the soothsayer , who was hired by Balak (could be read as

Black) , was killed by the sword. In today’s breaking news (7-13-07), another Black, this

one, the Media Tycoon Conrad Black, was convicted by a Federal Jury of Mail fraud,

among other crimes. Mr. Black hired high powered Attorneys or soothsayers to lash out

at the prosecution and to break their case, but unfortunately it did not work. The jury did

not believe his story. Each side were making allegations against each other. What got me

concerned was that the Prosecution and defense rested their case during the week of

Parshas Balak or Black). I knew something was going to come hot off the press. Now,

contrary to the Balack or Black of ancient, times, Conrad Black loved the Jewish people

and the State of Israel. He even owned the Jerusalem Post at one point in his life.

Based on the democratic system of laws in the United States, Mr. Black may have to

serve up to 30 years in jail. Sounds pretty harsh. Such is the American system of justice.

Hopefully, justice will prevail and he will get the conviction tossed out on appeal so that

he can always be a free man.
