Excerpts for the forthcoming, “Code of the Heart” Parshas Shemos/ ,una (13th Parsha of 54 Sections of Torah) By Rabbi Avraham David - great grandson of the Strettyner Rebbe, Rabbi Moses Langner, z”l Numerical Interpretation of Torah with aid of Gematria. Bible Code. Questions/Comments 908-907-0953. online at www.codeoftheheart.com ©2006 Dvar Torah 5766 “Study Gematria and Sharpen Your Mind” Heavenly Gift This is the first Parsha of the second book of the five books of Moses. With the aid of the codes we see a link to the first book of Moses. The last words of Parshas Vayechi of the first book of Moses are the following ohrmnc iurtc oahhu , “and he was placed in a coffin in Egypt” (Genesis 50:26). The first two words of Shemos are the following ,una jktu A“And these are the names” (Exodus 1:1). If we combine the two phrases, we read the following, ,una jktu ohrmnc iurtc oahhu , If we take the acronym of the encircled letters (rearranged), it spells the term vb,n , matanah, which means a gift. This word can be found in Numbers 18:6 where it says, vk ohb,b vb,n , “a gift given to God.” This phrase refers to the Levites being chosen to minister for the Lord. This teaches us that our goal is to emulate the Levites to serve Hashem. With aid of Gematria, we find additional meaning. The Gematria of vb,n , matanah, is 495. Another phrase with the same number is vnhn,, temimah, without blemish, perfect. In fact, King David in Psalms says the following; vnhn, v ,ru, “the Torah of God is perfect” (Psalms 19:8). Let me tell you something. I read the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Newsweek, Time and others. But they do not satisfy my desire or quest for knowledge and truth. First of all, we do not even know if what they write is the truth. We always hear stories of fake writings, embellishments and paid consultants. These companies have bills to pay. They must fill space or they don’t make money. They survive by paid advertisements and selling their papers. Not so our Torah. Remember, the Torah was given to us for free in the dessert of Sinai. God is not making any money from us when we read His Torah that is a gift from heaven. We need God. God does not need us. God exists forever. Only He can truly help us. We are really getting a true vb,n, matanah, gift from God who gives us the best advise. So lets sick back and enjoy the Ba’al Koreh (Torah Reader- in my shuls NY/Toronto, it’s either Rabbi Hager or Joe Heller ) as he reads the Parsha of this week and every week.
As noted last week, we decoded an angel’s name, khkf where the Torah talks about the angel that protected Jacob. It is interesting to note that Rabbeinu Bachya mentions that this is the same angel that appeared in the bush on Mount Sinai. (See Rabbeinu Bachya’s comments on the Torah at page 775, volume 3). He also states that God appeared with the attribute of Justice. In Hebrew the term for justice is ihs, din, whose Gematria is 64. If we take the difference between khkf (90) and ihs (64) we have 26 which stands for the name God with the attribute of mercy. Hence we really see the two attributes of God.
In this week’s Parsha we see how God really controls the forces of nature where we read that the water will turn to blood. According to Rabbeinu Bachya, the Torah mentions the word , uhvu , v’hayu, and it will become (blood), twice. Why the repetition? To teach us that there was no sleight of hand. What is interesting to note is that we see the term Torah, encoded in that phrase where it says, uhvu vachv ,fpau rthv hnhnn ,jeku , and you will take the water from the river and pour it upon the dry land and it will become…blood”(Exodus 4:9). This week (1-16-06) we heard the news about the stardust that was brought back to earth and about the space ship on it’s way to study Pluto. The scientists are busy trying to find life and to figure out the origins of our universe. They do not have to go so far or spend so much money. In fact, they just have to study the Torah and they can learn about it for free. In this week’s Parsha, Moses had his first encounter God. May we also merit heavenly communication so that we can use our time and give the gift of life to serve God.
