Excerpts for the new forthcoming book, “Code of the Heart” Parshas Bo/ tc (15th Parsha of 54 Sections of Torah) By Rabbi Avraham David - great grandson of the Strettyner Rebbe, Rabbi Moshe Langner, z”l. Numerical Interpretation of Torah with aid of Gematria. Bible Code. Questions/Comments 908-907-0953. online at www.codeoftheheart.com ©2007 Dvar Torah 5767 “Study Gematria and Sharpen Your Mind” The Code of Thank You This is the 15th Parsha of the Torah. What is the significance of the number 15? As noted in a previous discourse, it represents the Sabbath (Shabbos) as the Sabbath is 15% of the week. There are 10,080 minutes in a week and Shabbos is 1512 minutes. If you do the calculations, it comes to 15%. According to Dr . Ari Friedman, this represents the creation of this world and the next world, which is the Yod Hei of God’s name, which is the Gematria of 15. In this Parsha we learn that God took us out of Egypt with a strong hand (see Exodus 13:16). Moreover, it is one of the reasons why we commemorate the Sabbath as it is mentioned in the Ten Commandments (see Deuteronomy 5:15), where it says, “ And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Hashem, your God, has taken you out from there with a strong hand.” With the aid of the codes, we see additional meaning . The Torah says at the end of Parshas Bo, lhbhg ihc ,pyuyku vfsh kg ,utk vhvu ohrmnn 'v ubthmuv sh ezj hf , “And it will be sign on your hand and an ornament between your eyes for with a strong hand God took us out of Egypt” (Exodus 13:16) According to Rashi, the term, Totaphos refers to the phylacteries (Tefilin). He says that whoever will see the Tephilin will be reminded about the Exodus and speak about it. Moreover, if we take the acronym of the encircled letters, (rearranged) it spells the word vkv,, tehilla, meaning praise, as we say in Psalms, susk vkv,, a praise of David. This confirms Rashi’s interpretation in that when we don the Tephilin, we must praise God for taking us out of Mitzrayim, our former house of bondage. As we read along in the pasuk (sentence) we mine more findings. The encoded letters of the phrase ubthmuv sh ezj , spells the sue, code. What is the message here? By connecting the next words with the “code” finding we see what God wants us to do. In fact, even Moses was unsure about how to serve God when he said to Pharaoh, “we will not know how to serve God until our arrival there” (see Exodus 10:26). The encoded letters of the phrase, ohrmnn 'v ubthmuv sh, spells the word vsun, modeh, meaning to thank, as we say in our morning prayers, oheu hj lkn lhbpk hbt vsun , I gratefully, thank you O Living and Eternal King. We start off our prayers with words of thanking , which is confirmed with the above finding. It is interesting to observe after our people were finally freed from the iron furnace of Egypt that Moses never told Pharaoh of God’s true intentions of bringing the children of Israel to the promised land. As noted in the beginning of Exodus, Moses and Aaron only said to Pharaoh that he should send out the people so that they may serve the Lord in the wilderness (See Exodus 5:1). It is my humble opinion that Pharaoh was so stubborn that if he was told at the start that the Children of Israel should be released so that they can go to the land of Canaan, he would never let them ago or even negotiate their departure. Moses strategy worked. By requesting Pharaoh to let them go celebrate with God in the wilderness, Moses and Aaron were able to have a dialogue with him and in this in turn led to the Exodus from Egypt. A refuah shlaima to my father Yaakov Zev Ben Malka Blima. Shabbat Shalom ouka ,ca |
