Thank God for Daily Miracles

In this week’s Parshas, we read about the miraculous splitting of the sea where the

Children of Israel walked across on dry land in the middle of the sea. They did not walk

in fear but went like a royal delegation. The proof is in the codes. The Torah says at the

end of the song,

the dry land” (

(rearranged ) it spells the word

in God. In a sea that at places reaches a depth of 3000 feet became totally dry. We have

always been told that the Torah protects us. Moreover, not only does it protect us but it

also destroys the enemy. The Torah says the following before the song at the sea,

ohv lu,c vachc ufkv ktrah hbcu, “and the Children of Israel walked onExodus 15:19). If we take the last letters of the encoded lettersvfukn , kingdom. Such is the way of those who have faith

letters spells the word

Az Yashir Song. The Torah says,

The Talmudic sages deduced from this statement that we always have to buy or obtain

the finest clothing, best food, shiny candelabrums and sweet wine etc., in honor of the

Sabbath. The phrase itself has a Gematria of 127. This ties in to our matriarch Sarah who

we are told observed the Sabbath as well. From this term we see that she always made a

beautiful shabbos for her family. We also learn from this phrase that the people felt the

presence of God amongst themselves. Two words of the above phrase are actually

encoded in the commandment of Shabbos that we will read next week, where it says the

following

20:8) . If we take the first letters of the encoded letters (rearranged) , it spells

This is my God. Hence we see a clear allusion to the statement of the sages.

In the news this week, we are witnessing another outbreak of severe cold coming down

from the artic north. We also see the devastating destruction of central florida as a result

of straight line winds and tornadoes. Just like we witness the ‘hand of God’ at the Yam

Suf, we see the ‘hand of God’ in our time. Also , just like the Children of Israel sang at

the sea after the Egyptians were drowned, Le’havdil, the exile Cubans in Miami

announced that they will make a celebration upon the death of Fidel Castro. Some have

criticized this announcement while others have praised it. Likewise, when the Egyptians

were drowning at sea, the angels starting singing Shira and God rebuked them by saying

my creations are dying and you are celebrating? In any event, we must always appreciate

the miracles that God performs for us on a daily basis.

The Shabbos Brings Inner Peace

In this week’s

says the following , “Remember the Sabbath day to sanctify it. Six days shall you work

and do all your work. And the seventh day is Sabbath to Hashem, your G-d: you shall not

do any work – you and your son and your maidservant and your animal, and your convert

within your gates – for in six days Hashem made the heavens and the earth, the sea and

all that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day. Therefore , Hashem blessed the

Sabbath day and sanctified it.” For over three thousand years the Children of Israel have

remembered and observed this special day. In fact, it is a day that brings inner peace and

serenity (free from stress). In our afternoon Sabbath prayer services known as Minchah,

we say the following prayers,

serenity and tranquility and security.” In fact, we see an allusion from the fourth

commandment that indeed the Sabbath brings that inner peace that we all long for. The

Parsha, we are given the Ten Commandments. The Fourth Commandmentjycu yeavu vukau ouka ,jubn, “a rest of peace and

your G-d.” If we take the acronym of the encircled letters, it spells the term

meaning inner peace and serenity. This is why the Shabbos is such a unifying force

amongst the Jewish people as it brings peace to our people. We must not abuse the day of

Sabbath as it is G-d’s gift to us. How can we reject a gift that brings us peace? In last

week’s Parsha, we first introduced to the Shabbos. The Torah says, the following:

says, lhekt 'vk ,ca hghcav ouhu, “And the seventh day is Sabbath to Hashem, vuka,

,cav ofk i,b v hf utr

, “See that Hashem has given you the Sabbath;” 1

If we take the acronym of the encircled letters, it spells the term,

vb,n

and is a gift. But there is more. On the Sabbath eve, Jewish women light the Sabbath

candles which bring a special warmth and glow to the Sabbath Table. Indeed, we see an

allusion to the warmth of the Sabbath day from the Torah. The Torah says,

, meaning gift. From this brief analysis, we see that the Sabbath brings inner peace

If we take the acronym of the encircled letters, it spells the term

meaning warmth. Hence we see that when we eat our delicious Sabbath meals, we are

warmed by the light of the Sabbath Candles.
